Manic Street Preachers udsender en ny single som forløber for udgivelsen af “National Treasure - The Complete Singles Collection”, og de er i samme ombæring gået officielt med detaljerne om en helt speciel jule-event d. 17. december i O2, London – én aften, ét show, en helt speciel mulighed for at opleve bandet spille alle sangene fra denne opsamlende udgivelse. Den nye single ”This Is The Day” udkommer d. 7. november. Dette er en cover af sangen mange kender og elsker med bandet The The, oprindelig indspillet i 1983. Manic Street Preachers har længet været fans af The The, hvilket giver ekko i deres version af sangen, hvor de samtidig tilføjer den en ny dynamisk produktion og deres helt egen genkendelige lyd. “National Treasures” indeholder bandets 38 singler fra 10 studiealbums, der er udkommet de sidste 21 år. Det er første gang siden ”Suicide Is Painless” (tema fra M*A*S*H) udkom i 1992, at bandet har udgivet en coverversion som single.
