The Spanish singer Montserrat Caballé, one of the great sopranos, also known as "La Superba", was known for her pending, shimmering pianissimi. She sang Puccini and French as well as Belcanto's premieres of works by Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini and the early Verdi, as well as songs from Andalusia and other Spanish regions with a very special lightness. All of these are extremely representative on the double album "Diva Eterna".
