She is the author of several books, including "The Threshold of the Visible World", "Male Subjectivity at the Margins", and "The Subject of Semiotics". Contributor Bio:  Farocki, Harun Director and film essayist Harun Farocki has made over 70 films, including "Videograms of a Revolution" and "Images of the World and the Inscription of War". Contributor Bio:  Ruderman, David B Rabbi David B. Ruderman, PhD, is the Joseph Meyerhoff Professor of ModernJewish History and Ella Darivoff Director of the Center for Advanced JudaicStudies at the University of Pennsylvania. He has taught at the University ofMaryland (1974 1983) and Yale University (1983 1994). He is the author ofmany books and articles, and recently won the Koret Award for the best book inJewish History in 2001, Jewish Enlightenment in an English Key. He is the immediatepast president of the American Academy for Jewish Research. In 2001, theNational Foundation for Jewish Culture honored him with its lifetime achievementaward for his work in Jewish history.
