The Chain Mail Diaries

Publisher Marketing: What if you were given the opportunity to have 100% vocal freedom. An opportunity to say whatever it is that you've always wanted to say, but probably never could, or probably never WOULD, because your friends, family, associates and even your enemies would think differently of you should they know the inner workings of your 'true mind'. We try to maintain our 'facades' as best we can in life, why would we share our secrets and let strangers see 'the real us'? But, what if somehow you could? What if someone gave you a blank canvas to say anything; everything; that you've been bottling up for your entire life? What would you say to the world, about the world, if no one knew the anonymous voice speaking belonged to you? On a whim, I purchased a journal and began an experiment filled with uncertainty and personal conflict and began "The Chain Mail Diaries." Little did I know, the $8.00 investment I made into a blank book would lead me on the most unexpectedly grand adventure of my life...back then I had little faith in myself; but even less faith in the world or the other people living in it alongside me. That was then. This is now. Things have changed for me since that time in my life. Well, actually things have changed since I received my diary back after I left it abandoned in a parking lot for a chance stranger to discover and either choose, or deny, to participate in this project with me...after it had been circulated around to God knows where and was read or written in by God knows who...there it was. Mailed back to me by a phantom writer I would never meet; but that I love and appreciate and understand more than I love or appreciate or understand the majority of my own family members. "The Chain Mail Diaries" gives a very small glimpse into the hearts, lives, and inner souls of various people from all walks of life. The book didn't seek out an interview from the rich or famous or popular or trendy. It merely sought out anyone who chose to have a conversation with it for a moment before passing it along down the chain to the next 'nobody' in line. The book was ordinary. Just a standard, $8.00 journal purchased from a retail store a long, long time ago. The people who shared themselves, opened and raw and honest and bleeding upon its pages...the people made this ordinary little book something extraordinarily epic that has forever changed my views on everyone around me. It's my goal that, for those of you who choose to partake in this journey with us, it will forever change something within you as well. We all know humanity is 'lacking something'. We all understand that we 'need a change'. We're 'out of touch' with each other'. It's my hope that this book will start mending a bridge between the essence of what it means to be human; one heart and soul at a time. Namaste.
