The Doves of Castle Dunbrair

For centuries, mourning doves nesting in the forest surrounding Castle Dunbrair have protected the inhabitants of the castle and the bearer of a powerful silver ring. Michael of Dunbrair, a 12th-century Scottish knight wears the magical ring on a silver chain under his tunic. When he is summoned to join King Richard's army at Château Gaillard he falls in love with Catharine, the queen's adopted daughter. Catharine realises that she loves him too but all they had were fleeting moments during dangerous secret meetings, because by order of the king she is unwillingly betrothed to another.
