Two stories narrated in parallel. The first one is about the Holy Inquisition in Spain, where the main characters are the European humanists Luis Vives, among Erasmus of Rotterdam and Thomas More. All the characters lived in their time period, and every narrated fact occurred in reality. Q: Why the title?
A: It is a literal quote from the Valencian, Spanish and European humanist, Luis Vives, after a reflexión about the Spanish Inquisition. In fact, he is one of the main characters of my next novels. The exact quote was, "Everything is so dark and the night covers me."
Q: Now you are writing about the Inquisition?
A: Yes. In my two first novels, the historical background was the life of the Jews in the aljama of Valencia, in Spain at the end of the XIV century. In this book, we hop to the first quarter of the XVI century, with the acción of the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition of Spain. The centuries go by, but the situation of the Jewish does not improve; in fact, and it was already difficult, it gets worse.
Q: Is the actual plot, the one referring to the XXI century, still the same?
A: yes. The main characters are still the same, with some new additions, but the surprises are not going to stop and they are very important.
Q: Now, let's talk about you. You studied an MBA degree, learned languages... to finish up being a politician and a writer.
A: Hahahaha, if you say it like that, it seems like I've been doing worse, right? Having been a councilman in my hometown for more than six years, apart from being an honor, is a vocation just as being a writer.
