Victims or Actors of Development: the Case of the San People of D'kar Botswana
Tshepang Denise Kiil
There are a lot of overlapping issues concerning the San people of Botswana. This book is grounded on various discussions about identity of the San people and their contemporary way of life. The discussion is rooted in development policies which have been initiated by Botswana government for the San people and how these have created a potential gap in achieving realistic developmental initiatives. By outlining some of the projects carried out by the Kuru Family of Organisation (KFO)the discussion has shown how this group has attempted to fill in the gaps created by government initiatives which have failed to address the state of the San people as proven by perpetual poverty which seems to characterise them. The book highlights the symbiotic relationship which exist between the San people who are involved in the project activities run by the KFO and the mutual benefit.
